Walkthrough: Endings

Greetings ghouls and ghosts, arkicade here!

This post is the fourth and final post in a series of walkthroughs for the game "A Monster's Insight".

This will probably be the easiest because it just tells you what you need to do in order to get all the endings.

Walkthrough list

You can find the walkthrough for Chapter 1 here

You can find the walkthrough for Chapter 2 here

You can find the walkthrough for Chapter 3 here

Walkthroughs

The walkthroughs up until now have told you how to WIN or get DRAFT outcomes (for Chapter 3). To "lose" (because to get certain endings you need to lose) you simply need to ensure that... you don't win!

Or, more easily, if you press the button "No More Questions" during The Questioning that is guaranteed to be a LOSE outcome.

The Ritual

"The Ritual" is the bonus reward for unlocking the following:

  • The Sun Ending
  • *ONE* Moon Ending
  • *ONE* Blood Ending
  • *ONE* Void Ending

You'll know if you've "unlocked" an ending because on the main menu, there will be icons denoting the different "ending types" you've unlocked.

Even though there are 7 endings total, you only need 4 of them to unlock the final content. Unfortunately, there's no "extra" reward for unlocking all the 7 endings (as I thought that people wouldn't play it 7 times to unlock all of them).

For context, across the game, there are...

  • 1   Sun Ending
  • 2   Moon Endings
  • 2   Blood Endings
  • 2  Void Endings

Notation

(X, Y, Z) represents the combination needed to achieve an ending.

The first slot (X) represents the outcome you got for Fernweh (which is either LOSE or WIN).

The second slot (Y) represents the outcome you got for Cor Meum (which is either LOSE or WIN).

The third slot (Z) represents the outcome you got for Deulithoteq (which is either, LOSE, DRAFT or WIN).

The Sun Ending

In order to unlock the sun ending, you need to WIN all dialogues with all interlocutors. (WIN, WIN, WIN)

This means that for Deulithoteq, you cannot "win" with a DRAFT outcome, it has to be a WIN outcome.

Moon Ending 1

In order to unlock the first moon ending, you need to lose once (either with Fernweh or Cor Meum) but win with Deulithoteq. So the two possibilities are...

  • (WIN, LOSE, WIN)
  • (LOSE, WIN, WIN)

This means that for Deulithoteq, you cannot "win" with a DRAFT outcome, it has to be a WIN outcome.

Moon Ending 2

In order to unlock the second moon ending, you need to WIN with both Fernweh and Cor Meum, but achieve a DRAFT outcome with Deulithoteq (WIN, WIN, DRAFT).

This means that for Deulithoteq, you cannot "win" with a WIN outcome, it has to be a DRAFT outcome.

Blood Ending 1

In order to unlock the first blood ending, you need to WIN one of either Fernweh or Cor Meum and LOSE with the other. And, for Deulithoteq you need a DRAFT outcome. So the two possibilities are...

  • (WIN, LOSE, DRAFT)
  • (LOSE, WIN, DRAFT)

This means that for Deulithoteq, you cannot "win" with a WIN outcome, it has to be a DRAFT outcome.

Blood Ending 2

In order to unlock the second blood ending, you need to WIN with both Fernweh and Cor Meum, but achieve a LOSE outcome with Deulithoteq (WIN, WIN, LOSE).

Void Ending 1

In order to unlock the first void ending, you need to WIN one of either Fernweh or Cor Meum and LOSE with the other. And, for Deulithoteq you need to LOSE . So the two possibilities are...

  • (WIN, LOSE, LOSE)
  • (LOSE, WIN, LOSE)

Void Ending 2

In order to unlock the second void ending, you need to LOSE with Fernweh and LOSE with Cor Meum (LOSE, LOSE).

Conclusion

Thank you for reading all of the walkthroughs up until now! It really means a lot to me that you put in the effort to try and achieve all the different endings/try to win even if you found it difficult.

I was worried that my game may be "too hard" or "too easy" (which is why there's Assist and Challenge Mode) but I think it's always better if your game is the latter over the former. Having games be "too easy" for some makes it accessible to others. And I want to make sure that with these walkthroughs, everyone is able to achieve all the endings/outcomes.

On some other news, I recently added a "thank you booklet" so if you donate $2+ you'll get it (also if you've already donated that amount you should be able to receive it). Nobody has to pay for this but I unexpectedly received donations (very very few donations) but they still count in my heart! And I just wanted to give something back :)
